About Queen's English School
Queen’s English School offers lessons for all ages. Children begin in our tots classes from 3 years of age. After beginning elementary school, classes are organized by grade and age. We have lower, middle and upper elementary classes. These classes are 50 minutes long and are taught with a Japanese assistant.Junior high school classes are scheduled by grade
(1st /2nd/3rd year) and are also taught with a Japanese assistant.
From high school on, the classes are mixed, but generally students are placed with those in the same year of High School. There are no Japanese assistants in these classes,
and the emphasis is on students speaking and expressing themselves.
Teachers at Queen’s have access to a huge amount of resources and lesson plans, yet the lessons are not rigidly structured. This gives both the teacher and the students the opportunity to be creative.
Queen’s English School is owned and operated by Simon Tanton, David Thomson and Nobuo Shiraki. Simon and David have lived in the Higashi Mikawa area for a number of years and have years of experience in eikaiwa, elementary school, junior high school, high school and company lessons. Together, they developed the eikaiwa course, Step Right Up which is a three level eikaiwa course for elementary and junior high school students.
